In the heart of Aschaffenburg on January 22, 2025, a shocking incident occurred at Schoenthal Park. The incident involved a knife attack that targeted a group of kindergarten teachers and five toddlers.
The attacker, identified as a 28-year-old Afghan national named Enamullah Omarzai, followed the group for about fifteen minutes before launching his attack. The victims included a two-year-old Moroccan boy who tragically lost his life due to seven stab wounds and a two-year-old Syrian girl who survived with critical injuries.
During the attack, Mr. Omarzai also stabbed and killed a 41-year-old man and wounded a 72-year-old man as he fled the scene.

Investigators are currently working tirelessly to clarify the background of the incident. However, there is no evidence of any other suspects involved.
The suspect was arrested near the scene of the crime immediately after the incident. Further details about his legal or medical status are not provided in the available information.
Our thoughts are with the families of the victims during this difficult time.
