The Kansas City Chiefs, currently 0-2, are preparing for their upcoming game against the New York Giants with a few key players potentially returning from injuries.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, a two-time MVP, has been dealing with a right wrist issue but was listed as a full participant on the injury report. Despite this, Mahomes ranks 15th in the league with 445 passing yards through two games.

Receiver Xavier Worthy, who suffered a dislocated shoulder, later reported as a torn labrum, on the fourth play of the Chiefs' season-opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, is expected to suit up for Sunday night's game. Worthy returned to practice late last week after his injury and has been productive as a rookie last season, finishing with 638 yards and six touchdown catches.

Jalen Royals, a fourth-round pick in this year's draft, has been sidelined since training camp due to knee tendinitis. However, Royals and Worthy were both listed as limited participants on the official injury report but practiced with no limitations on Wednesday. Head coach Andy Reid stated that Royals is coming along well, and the team will see how he performs.

Unfortunately, defensive end Mike Danna (quad) and cornerback Kristian Fulton (ankle) did not practice for the Chiefs.

Another receiver for the Chiefs, Rashee Rice, has four games left to serve on a disciplinary suspension tied to a high-speed crash in March 2024.

Meanwhile, Xavier Worthy's teammate Jalen Carter is likely to play in Sunday's game against the New York Giants. Carter had a shoulder injury but practiced fully after being limited earlier in the week.

Both the Chiefs and host Giants are 0-2, meaning they have both lost their first two games of the season. The return of Worthy and potentially Royals could provide a much-needed boost for the Chiefs' offense as they aim to secure their first win of the season.
