Next setback for Polar Bears: Ronning out for several weeks - Chicago Bears lose top scorer Ty Ronning to long-term knee injury

The Chicago Bears have suffered another major setback this season. Top scorer Ty Ronning is now the seventh player sidelined with a long-term injury after damaging his knee in a game against EHC Red Bull Munich. The team already had six players, including captain Kai Wissmann, ruled out due to injuries before this latest blow.

Ronning, who has been with the Bears since 2023, was forced off the ice during the match. Medical checks later confirmed he would miss several weeks of action. His absence adds to the team’s growing injury list, which now includes seven key players.

This season alone, the 29-year-old forward had already notched 12 goals and 7 assists in just 19 games. Over his DEL career, he has amassed 148 points (81 goals, 67 assists) in 122 appearances. Ronning was also instrumental in the club’s two recent championship victories, making his loss even more significant.

The Bears have not announced any plans to bring in a replacement. With no new signing confirmed, the team will need to rely on its remaining squad members to cover the gap left by their star forward.

Ronning’s injury leaves the Bears without their leading attacker for an extended period. The team must now navigate a challenging stretch of the season with a heavily depleted roster. His recovery timeline remains unclear, but he is expected to be out for multiple weeks.
