Chelsea Wins 1-0 Over Benfica in Champions League, Lookman and Ederson Shine

Chelsea secured a crucial 1-0 win over Benfica in the UEFA Champions League, with Ademola Lookman and Ederson shining for their respective teams despite Chelsea's defensive struggles in recent matches.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca acknowledged the need for defensive improvement after his side conceded three goals in their last three Champions League games. He praised his team's effort and performance in the first half against Benfica, but admitted they must focus on strengthening their defence to prevent conceding goals.

In the match, Chelsea benefited from an own goal by Richard Rios to secure the victory. Meanwhile, Atalanta boss Ivan Juric hailed the performance of Ademola Lookman, who made his first start of the season and played a key role in keeping Atalanta's attack sharp against Club Brugge. Juric also expressed satisfaction with the contributions of Lookman and Ederson, who returned from injury to add stability to Atalanta's defence. Enzo Maresca, highlighting Chelsea's defensive players like Reece James and Thiago Silva, also noted this trend as a means to reinforce the team's overall stability.

Chelsea's 1-0 win over Benfica was a much-needed victory, but the team must address their defensive issues to progress further in the Champions League. Meanwhile, Atalanta's comeback victory over Club Brugge was boosted by the impressive performances of Lookman and Ederson, who are expected to continue contributing to their team's success.
