Chef Simone Zanoni violently assaulted outside her residence at Le George establishment.
In a shocking turn of events, Italian starred chef Simone Zanoni, head of the restaurant Le George at the Parisian George V palace, was violently assaulted outside his home in Le Chesnay, Yvelines, near Versailles, France, on August 12, 2025.
During the attack, two men forced Zanoni to fall and then stole his luxury Richard Mille watch, valued at approximately 150,000 euros [1][2]. The assault occurred in front of his residence, and the thieves also seized a T-Max scooter. Zanoni was able to recover enough to file a complaint at the Versailles police station.
This incident follows a previous violent home invasion he experienced in May 2022 [1]. In that incident, luxury watches and jewelry were stolen, and Zanoni sustained bruises. The theft occurred under the eyes of Simone Zanoni's children during the 2022 home invasion.
In December 2024, six people were sentenced to prison terms of 5 to 9 years by the Yvelines juvenile court for the 2022 home invasion [1]. The assailants in the 2022 home invasion did not use a scooter or steal a Richard Mille watch.
After the attack, Zanoni went to the Versailles police station and filed a complaint against unknown individuals for "aggravated theft". The Versailles Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation for armed robbery, in an organized group, and by a person concealing their face voluntarily.
The assailants fled towards the A13 motorway after the robbery. A scooter with two individuals on it, with a visible license plate, was seen in the surveillance footage. The earlier home invasion was not mentioned in the surveillance footage from the recent attack.
Simone Zanoni, known for his social media presence, regularly shares recipes on platforms like Instagram, where he boasts a following of 560,000. Despite the traumatic events, he continues to share his culinary expertise with his followers.
