It's a wrap! The blockbuster musical "Maybe Happy Ending" swept the 2025 Tony Awards, taking home six coveted awards, including Best Musical at the glitzy ceremony held at Radio City Music Hall in NYC.

Three shows battled it out with 10 nominations each - "Maybe Happy Ending," "Buena Vista Social Club," and "Death Becomes Her." "John Proctor is the Villain" and "The Hills of California," up for Best Play, racked up seven nods but lost out to "Purpose" in the top category.

Tony favourite Nicole Scherzinger, known for her pop days with the Pussycat Dolls, won Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her Broadway debut in "Sunset Boulevard." Although she fell short of breaking the record for most Tony Awards ever won by a performer, she gave six-time winner Audra McDonald a run for her money.

Three Hollywood heavyweights - George Clooney, Mia Farrow, and Bob Odenkirk - eyed acting accolades at the Tonys this year, but all went home empty-handed. Instead, the spotlight belonged to "Oh, Mary!" star and creator Cole Escola, who made history as the first non-binary nominee and winner of Best Leading Actor in a Play.

Cynthia Erivo, fresh off the film adaptation of the smash Broadway musical "Wicked," hosted the show, kicking things off with a traditional opening musical number.

The show featured performances from each show nominated for Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical. The original cast of "Hamilton" also reunited for a performance to mark the show's 10-year anniversary.
