Chase for DTM Stars: High-Speed Racing Through the City Streets of Nuremberg

The city of Nuremberg, Germany, is set to host the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) race weekend from July 5 to 6, 2025. This event marks the seventh and eighth races of the 16-race season, with the action taking place at the historic Norisring circuit.

The Norisring, Germany's only city circuit, boasts a challenging layout with four corners, driven counterclockwise, and a track length of 2.162 kilometres. This compact yet thrilling track has been a staple of the DTM calendar since 2000.

As the DTM season reaches its midway point, several top drivers are vying for the championship. Lucas Auer (Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf), Jules Gounon, and Jordan Lee Pepper are among the frontrunners, with Auer currently leading the standings.

Last year, René Rast (Schubert Motorsport, BMW M4 GT3) claimed victory in Race 1 at the Norisring, while Nicki Thiim (SSR Performance, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2) triumphed in Race 2. Rast is looking strong this season, sitting in second overall with a 16-point deficit, and will be eager to repeat his success.

In a unique twist, former Moto2 World Champion Pol Espargaró will perform demo laps on a MotoGP machine from Red Bull-KTM before the DTM races. This motorcycle action serves as a warm-up for the Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, which takes place a week later at the Sachsenring.

The DTM weekend in Nuremberg offers a high-caliber program, featuring various racing events. Alongside the DTM, spectators can enjoy the Prototype Cup Germany, ADAC GT4 Germany, Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany, and the NXT Gen Cup.

Marco Wittmann, a native of Fürth, is looking forward to his home race at the Norisring. Wittmann, who is very familiar with the Norisring, is going into his home race with momentum, making him a strong contender for a podium finish.

Tickets for the DTM at the Norisring are available online at dtm.com for 74 Euro and include free public transport in the Greater Nuremberg area. With a packed schedule of racing events and motorcycle action, the DTM weekend in Nuremberg promises to be an unforgettable experience for motorsport enthusiasts.
