Chart-topping books and podcasts by Charlie Kirk gain popularity following the assassination
In a shocking turn of events, Charlie Kirk, the charismatic founder of Turning Point USA, was tragically killed during a campus event at Utah Valley University last week. Despite this tragic loss, Kirk's vision for a nationwide presence for Turning Point USA (TPUSA) seems to be becoming a reality more quickly than ever.
TPUSA, a conservative nonprofit with a mission to promote the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government, was founded by Kirk in 2012 when he was just 18 years old. Under his leadership, the organisation has grown into a multibillion dollar political empire.
Kirk's influence extended beyond TPUSA. He was a prolific writer, with several of his books ranking among Amazon's top 20 bestsellers. His earliest release, "The College Scam: How America's Universities Are Bankrupting and Brainwashing Away the Future of America's Youth," published in 2022, placed at No. 6. His next book, "Right Wing Revolution: How to Beat the Woke and Save the West," published in June 2024, ranked No. 20. His latest book, "Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life," published in December 2025, reached the No. 1 spot on Amazon Books.
Kirk's success as an author was mirrored in his podcast, "The Charlie Kirk Show." As of Tuesday, the show was at No. 1 in the "All Podcasts" and the "News" categories. It also reached the number one spot on Apple.
Following Kirk's death, "The Charlie Kirk Show" continued to produce tribute shows in the week after his passing. This included his wife's address to the nation and an episode hosted by Vice President JD Vance.
The recent surge in requests to start new chapters suggests that Kirk's vision for TPUSA is gaining momentum. As of the latest count, TPUSA has 900 official, school-sanctioned college chapters and 1,200 high school chapters across the country. Following Kirk's death, the organisation has received over 37,000 requests to start new chapters around the country.
However, the tragic circumstances surrounding Kirk's death have also sparked controversy. Social media platforms are under fire due to the spread of graphic assassination videos.
TPUSA's executive producer, Andrew Kolvet, made an announcement on FOX Business about the surge in chapter requests, stating, "Charlie's vision for a nationwide presence for Turning Point USA is becoming a reality more quickly than expected."
Kirk aimed to establish a foothold on every high school and college campus in the nation to spread his political ideology. With the recent surge in chapter requests, it seems that his vision is coming to fruition. Bill Montgomery, a retired Tea Party-backed legislative candidate who co-founded TPUSA with Kirk in 2012, expressed his belief that "Kirk's legacy will continue to inspire a new generation of conservatives."
In a poignant tribute, Montgomery added, "Charlie Kirk was not just a leader, he was a beacon of hope for millions of young people who were looking for a voice that would stand up for their beliefs. His loss is a tragedy, but his legacy will live on through Turning Point USA and the countless lives he has touched."
