Charlie Hunnam Unveils Rare Ed Gein Voice in Netflix's 'Monster' Season 3
Netflix's 'Monster: The Ed Gein Story' is set to premiere on October 3, with Charlie Hunnam portraying the infamous serial killer. The actor managed to find a rare recording of Gein's 'google voice', which is described as unsettling and reminiscent of Mark Rylance in 'Jerusalem' and Michael Jackson.
Gein's 'google voice' is rarely heard due to the time period of his crimes and arrest. Netflix's researchers struggled to find any recordings, but Hunnam successfully located a 70-minute interview conducted by police the night of Gein's arrest. He used this to develop his character's 'google voice' for the series.
'Monster: The Ed Gein Story' is the third season of Ryan Murphy's true crime series, following seasons on Jeffrey Dahmer and the Menendez Brothers. The series has been critically acclaimed, earning a total of 24 Emmy nominations across its first two seasons. Gein's crimes have inspired horror movie villains such as Norman Bates, Buffalo Bill, and Leatherface.
With its focus on the chilling 'google voice' of Ed Gein and a talented cast led by Charlie Hunnam, 'Monster: The Ed Gein Story' promises to be a gripping addition to Netflix's true crime series. The series premieres on October 3.
