The image shows a mannequin wearing a Chanel beige wool and cashmere jacket with black pants against a white background. The jacket has a classic silhouette with a round neckline, long sleeves, and a button-down front. The fabric is soft and luxurious, with a subtle sheen that catches the light. The black pants provide a stark contrast to the warm tones of the jacket, creating a timeless and sophisticated look.

Charli XCX has unveiled her mockumentary The Moment at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. The film, which pokes fun at her own public image and the Brat Summer craze, premiered to audiences in Utah. To promote it, she posed in bold black leather shorts against a snowy backdrop—an eye-catching contrast that quickly drew attention.

The mockumentary, directed by Aidan Zamiri, marks Charli XCX’s only film at this year’s Sundance. Unlike her previous appearances at the 2023 festival—where she featured in Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex and Cathy Yan’s The Gallerist—this project is deeply personal. She plays a fictionalised version of herself, leaning into satire rather than a straightforward tour documentary.

The Moment was designed to defy expectations. Instead of a typical concert film, Charli XCX wanted something that would extend the cultural conversation around her album Brat. The cast includes Rachel Sennott, Kate Berlant, and Alexander Skarsgård, adding star power to the irreverent take on fame. Following its Sundance debut, the film will hit US cinemas on January 30. German audiences will see it shortly after, with a release date set for February 19.

The mockumentary’s premiere solidifies Charli XCX’s shift from music into filmmaking. By blending humour with self-reflection, The Moment offers a fresh take on her Brat era. Its theatrical rollout will give fans a chance to see her playful side beyond the stage.
