Charley Hull, the talented English golfer, has experienced a setback in her sports career after a fresh ankle injury just before the PIF London Championship 2025. The incident occurred in the Centurion Club car park, where Hull slipped and rolled her ankle, forcing her to withdraw from the tournament less than 24 hours before it began.

This unfortunate turn of events comes after a series of fitness setbacks for Hull. Prior to the AIG Women's Open, she had been dealing with health issues that affected her preparation. At the Evian Championship, Hull collapsed three times on course due to a virus, and before the AIG Women's Open, she had also hurt her back.

Despite the initial hope and plans to play, Hull's latest injury proved too serious for her to participate in the event at her home course. She is currently scheduled for an MRI to assess the extent of the damage to her ankle.

Regarding her upcoming tournament participation, there is no current information indicating she has resumed competitive play since withdrawing from the PIF London Championship. Hull has estimated that she will need another three weeks for recovery, suggesting she may need additional time before rejoining tournaments.

It's worth noting that Hull placed runner-up in the AIG Women's Open, where Miyu Yamashita emerged as the champion. Despite the recent setbacks, Hull remains optimistic about her performance for the rest of the season, expressing concerns but maintaining a positive outlook.

In a lighter moment, during the incident in the car park, Thomas Bjorn, the tournament host, jokingly commented on Hull's frequent falls, adding a touch of humour to an otherwise challenging situation.

Charley Hull, having already dealt with a series of fitness setbacks in her sports career, encountered another significant hurdle when she injured her ankle during a golf-related accident. Despite the hopes of playing at the PIF London Championship, the severity of the injury forced her to drop out of the tournament and undergo an MRI assessment.
