Charity organization Covenant unveils new EP 'Andreas' through Dependent Records
On October 17, 2025, Swedish future pop act Covenant will release the "Andreas EP" via Dependent Records. This charity release is a tribute to the band's former member, Andreas Catjar-Danielsson, who passed away from cancer in 2024. All proceeds from this EP will go to support his widow and children.
In a heartwarming gesture, Dependent Records has waived its share of profits to maximize the charitable benefit. The EP features five experimental tracks, including two cover songs: "A Rider on a White Horse" by Lee Hazlewood and "Winter Kills" by Yazoo. The latter was released as an advance single and is now available for streaming or download on Bandcamp.
"Winter Kills" is the work of Eskil Simonsson, who is responsible for vocals and electronics in Covenant, and Joakim Montelius, who handles electronics. The recordings and mixing were completed by Andreas Catjar-Danielsson and Eskil Simonsson at various studios, with mastering by Vincent Uhlig in Germany.
Guest vocal contributions for the EP include Erica Li Lundqvist, who lends her voice to "A Rider on a White Horse", and Andriana Seecker, who sings on "Winter Kills".
This release marks Covenant's first new music in nearly a decade. The "Andreas EP" is available as a limited edition black vinyl EP alongside digital formats. It serves as both a commemoration of Andreas Catjar-Danielsson’s life and as a practical support effort for his family.
