Charity Baseball Match Ahead, Showcasing Familiar Baycats Icons for A Cause

Get ready to watch some excitement on the diamond as the Barrie Baycats gear up for the third annual Home Runs for the Hungry Community Baseball Game! This fun-filled event kicks off a little early, on May 3rd, almost two weeks ahead of the official season opener.

Come Saturday, the team will split up into two teams, with legendary community figures rounding out the rosters. Councillor Craig Nixon, the driving force behind this fabulous event, shared his ambitions, "Last year, we had close to a thousand spectators, and we're aiming to break or even surpass that this year!"

The proceeds from this game will generously support the Barrie Food Bank. In the past three years, the demand for the food bank's services has skyrocketed, tripling from its initial numbers[6]. With the food bank now serving over 7,000 people each month, every bit of help counts!
