Armin Rohde and Ludger Pistor: Ruhr Area Duo Back on TV - Chaos, schnitzel and secrets collide in The Million-Euro Schnitzel on ARD

A new comedy film, The Million-Euro Schnitzel, is set to air on ARD this Friday at 8:15 PM. The story follows Wolfgang Krettek and Günther Kuballa as they face fresh chaos in the Ruhr region. Fans of the duo will recognise their signature mix of humour and social realism, which has kept audiences laughing for 15 years.

Armin Rohde and Ludger Pistor return as Krettek and Kuballa in their sixth Ruhr-based comedy. This time, Krettek's life turns upside down when a 15-year-old girl, Tida, appears and claims to be his daughter. She demands hush money, forcing the duo into a desperate plan to keep the truth from Krettek's wife.

To raise cash quickly, they decide to reopen a schnitzel stand. But their troubles don't end there. The pair must also juggle a high-stakes TV startup pitch show while trying to manage Tida's unpredictable behaviour. Along the way, the girl ends up joining their wild scheme, turning the duo into an unlikely trio.

Krettek's character has come a long way since his early days as a rough-around-the-edges bar owner in Kölner Treff. Over two decades, he transformed into a successful entrepreneur, gaining wealth and respect—but his sharp wit and resilience remain. This latest film keeps that spirit alive, blending personal drama with the duo's usual comedic struggles.

ARD's broadcast this Friday marks another chapter in the long-running series. The broadcaster has hinted that more Krettek and Kuballa films could follow. For now, viewers can expect a fast-paced story filled with money troubles, family secrets, and the duo's trademark Ruhr region charm.
