Chaos erupted in Naples ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash between Sporting and Napoli. Portuguese fans were targeted in unprovoked attacks, leading to hospitalizations and arrests.

Tensions escalated hours before the Champions League match, with riots breaking out across the city. Clashes between fans began overnight, resulting in destruction of chairs, bottles, and terraces, as well as damaged cars. Seven suspects are still wanted by police in connection with assaults on Portuguese fans at a city center restaurant. Italian fans were involved in these attacks, with six Napoli fans arrested and several people requiring medical treatment. Police intervened to prevent further clashes and cordoned off the affected areas. Two Napoli fans were detained following the incidents.
