Chaos at Berlin S-Bahn Station: Police Seize Fan Items, Identify 223 Involved

Chaos erupted at Berlin's Jannowitzbrücke S-Bahn station before a Bundesliga match on Sunday afternoon. Federal Police intervened, seizing fan items and identifying over 200 individuals involved in disturbances.

The incident began as home fans boarded a train to Köpenick, concealing surveillance cameras and discarding protective equipment and face coverings. Federal Police, including Rapid Deployment forces, swiftly responded, halting the train's progress.

Among the seized items were eight pairs of quartz gloves, 64 face masks, 25 face coverings, six spray cans of paint, and four opposing team scarves. The identities of 223 people were established, with several offenses against the Assembly and Offenses Act reported.

In a separate incident, a 27-year-old German man was allegedly assaulted and robbed. He was pulled to the ground and beaten by multiple assailants, with his bag and a fan f stolen. Investigations into suspected dangerous bodily harm and robbery have begun, with relevant video footage secured.

The Federal Police Directorate Berlin, overseeing security at Berlin railway stations, is handling the incident. Fans were later escorted to the stadium at the Alte Försterei. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.
