Paris Saint-Germain's Season Kicks Off with Sold-Out Matches and Booming Revenue

The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) football club has kicked off its new season in style, with the Parc des Princes stadium filled to capacity for every match since the 2017-2018 season. The campaign for season ticket sales and hospitality reserved for businesses was finalized earlier than usual, between early and mid-July.

Over the past fifteen years, the PSG's revenues from stadium activities have seen a significant increase. What was once a modest 20-25 million euros has grown to nearly 200 million euros last season. This growth is due in part to the high occupancy rate of the boxes, which is thanks to multi-year contracts, and the early completion of the business campaign being significant in the current economic context.

Playing at the Parc des Princes remains restrictive with very few possible amenities, but the PSG's attractiveness continues to draw fans from near and far. The cancellation rate for season ticket renewals is a minuscule 2.5%, a testament to the club's enduring popularity.

The Auteuil tribune subscription rate is 500 euros lower than that of European competitors, making it an affordable option for many fans. The first home match of the season against Angers was a boon for the club's resale platform, "Ticketplace". Some tickets for the match against Atalanta Bergamo were still available at a relatively affordable price of 90 €.

The PSG has not increased the price of subscriptions in the Auteuil tribune, and is trending towards feminization in its stadium population. The club is also hosting more seminars, conferences, and stadium visits due to high attendance rates, a trend observed since the Messi years.

The PSG's visitor experience and ancillary activities have been optimized, inspired by the Club World Cup in the United States. Hospitality and premiumization of services are the main levers for increasing revenue at the Parc des Princes. The speed at which the Parc des Princes fills up for individual matches or Champions League packages has slowed since the Messi era (2021-2023), but the demand for tickets remains high.

As for speculation about a possible move to Massy or Poissy, or the construction of a new stadium, these discussions remain confined to the media, with no current plans in place. For now, the PSG will continue to call the Parc des Princes its home, with the 169th consecutive sold-out match expected for Wednesday evening against Atalanta Bergamo in the Champions League.
