Champions League Final Reached by Kazakhstan Squad
Hear ya! The badass Taldykorgan volleyball team, "Jetisu," has stomped their way into the 2025 Asian Women's Volleyball League Final disco_, take a bloody guess where it's all going down - Pasig, Philippines!
Last Saturday, these champs nabbed a thrashing 3-0 win over Thailand's "Nakhon Ratchasima" in the semis, snatching victory with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-21. It's safe to say they've been unstoppable thus far, steamrolling through every game without giving up a single set.
The grand showdown will take place on April 27. Jetisu will be facing off against the winner of the Vietnamese crew, "VTV Binh Dien Long An," and the Chinese club "BAIK Motor."
History's on the line here, as Jetisu hasn't managed to snag the top spot in past League finals (2010, 2013). The Kazakh teams that have triumphed in the past were Almaty's "Rahat" (2004, 2007), Ust-Kamenogorsk's "Altai" (2021), and Petropavlovsk's "Kuanysh" (2022).
Now here's where things get spicy - this marks the inception of the rebranded AVC Champions League, previously known as the Asian Women's Club Championship[4]. Moreover, Jetisu fucking slayed it and took home the trophy. Karyna Denysova claimed the MVP title after racking up a high score[3].
As for Jetisu's prep for the finale, they've been serving some dominance in the pool stages, displaying consistency and talent in every game, particularly from their middle blocker Valeriya Yakutina[5].
