Judd Trump Wins the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters in a Thrilling Final

In a nail-biting finale, Judd Trump emerged victorious at the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters, defeating Mark Williams in a deciding decider. The match ended with a score of 72-62, marking Trump's first win in this prestigious tournament.

The final was a closely contested affair, with both players winning frames alternately. Despite starting the final behind, Trump managed to win four frames in a row to take a 4-1 lead. However, Williams came back strong, winning two frames in a row with breaks of 121 and 132, narrowing the gap to 4-3. The tension remained high until the final frame, where Trump clinched the victory.

The win further solidifies Trump's position as the world number one and adds to his impressive record. With this victory, Trump now has 29 ranking titles in the world of snooker, placing him ahead of Steve Davis (67) and Shaun Murphy (42). Trump's total earnings from the tournament amounted to 200,000 GBP (approximately 236,780 EUR), while the top prize for the tournament was 500,000 GBP (approximately 591,950 EUR).

The semi-finals saw Trump win the first three frames against Shaun Murphy before Murphy reduced the score to 3:2. In the other semi-final, Williams, at 52, faced off against the young and promising Si Jiahui, 22. The match was as close as the final, with Si taking an early lead and Williams coming back to win the match.

The defending champion of the BetVictor English Open, which will begin on September 12 and last for ten days, is Judd Trump. The tournament, held in Brentwood, UK, offers a total prize money of £550,400 (approximately €651,618), with the winner receiving £100,000 (approximately €118,390). The upcoming snooker tournaments after the 2025 Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters are the 2025 Wuhan Open, the 2025 English Open, and the 2025 British Open, although the exact dates and prize money for these tournaments are yet to be announced.

Experts believe that at 35, Trump has a strong chance of topping the list of players with the most ranking titles one day. Only three players have won more ranking titles: John Higgins (31), Stephen Hendry (36), and Ronnie O'Sullivan (41). As the snooker season continues, fans eagerly await to see how Trump's career unfolds.
