Challenging draw not deterring Droopys Aladdin's self-assurance

Mike Burton's greyhound, Droopys Aladdin, is set to compete in the prestigious Ladbrokes Gold Cup at Monmore on Saturday night. Despite a challenging draw in trap four, the greyhound has demonstrated impressive early and middle pace, making him a strong contender in this high-profile competition.

Droopys Aladdin remains the ante-post favourite at 5/1 odds with many bookmakers, indicating strong market confidence. Although he prefers a tighter rail draw, he will be starting from trap four, which is considered less favourable for his running style.

In previous heat races, Droopys Aladdin has shown "frightening early pace" and unleashed a "superb burst of middle pace" to lead before halfway, demonstrating his racing strength at Monmore over the 480m distance. Trainer Mike Burton and associate Vince Owen are pleased with the greyhound's progress and splits, suggesting his capability to compete well in big open races like the Ladbrokes Gold Cup.

The competition is tough, with other notable contenders such as Patrick Janssens' Droopys Trade. However, Droopys Aladdin's form and speed keep him in the spotlight. Burton believes Droopys Aladdin will have room to work with in the opening strides despite the difficult draw.

Meanwhile, another greyhound, Outa The Clouds, will be making its debut in the 480m standard competition at Monmore. Burton acquired Outa The Clouds from the Dunphys in Ireland and has been impressed with the young greyhound, who weighs almost 35 kilos. Burton described Outa The Clouds as a "smashing pup" and is optimistic about its debut, stating that they are all looking forward to seeing him race.

During training, Outa The Clouds has been difficult for Burton to keep up with on the quad bike, indicating its speed and potential. Droopys Aladdin has also shown impressive racing skills in the opening rounds of this year's Greyhound Derby at Towcester and in the opening round of the Ladbrokes Gold Cup at Monmore.

Betano offers betting markets for both Droopys Aladdin and Outa The Clouds. New customers can take advantage of a special offer, with £30 in free bets when a £10 wager is made (terms apply). The dog outside Droopys Aladdin won the Golden Sprint at Romford, but is expected to offer up room to Droopys Aladdin in the competition. The dog directly inside Droopys Aladdin in the competition won the Puppy Derby at Monmore.

In conclusion, despite the "tough draw" in trap four, Droopys Aladdin's performances indicate he is a serious contender to watch in the Gold Cup at Monmore. His ability to produce quick starts and strong middle pace can offset the disadvantage of not having an inside trap. Meanwhile, Outa The Clouds is a promising young greyhound that is expected to make a strong debut at Monmore.
