Central Perk Cafe, a symbolic location from the iconic TV series 'Friends', has reopened in Times Square.
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences has announced a joint venture to open a second Central Perk Coffeehouse, this time in the heart of New York City's Times Square. The coffeehouse, modeled after the popular TV hangout from the beloved sitcom "Friends," is expected to open in late fall.
Peter van Roden, the executive vice president of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, stated that "Friends" continues to bring people together, and the New York Central Perk Coffeehouse aims to do just that.
The New York Central Perk Coffeehouse will operate as a fully functioning cafe, offering six original coffee blends and a variety of food options. Similar to the Boston branch, which opened two years ago, the New York outlet will also offer "Friends"-themed food options such as soups, salads, sandwiches, and tartlets.
The shop will also sell newly created merchandise, allowing fans to take a piece of their favourite show home with them.
Located at 20 Times Square, northeast corner of Seventh Avenue and 47th Street, the New York Central Perk Coffeehouse is set to capture the energy and global love for "Friends." The coffeehouse is a joint venture between Warner Bros., Central Perk Coffee Co., and CenPer Holdings.
Peter van Roden expressed his excitement about the new venture, stating that the New York Central Perk Coffeehouse will bring a real-world version of one of television's most beloved hangouts to the city where "Friends" began. The opening of the coffeehouse allows fans to feel like they're in an episode of "Friends" themselves.
The Central Perk Coffeehouse in Times Square is scheduled to open in late fall, and customers can look forward to purchasing coffee and enjoying the unique "Friends" atmosphere. The exact opening date has not been announced yet, but fans are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to visit this iconic location.
