In an exciting development for the global film industry, Paris-based production company Celluloid Dreams has announced that they will be handling global sales for the debut feature film "Shape of Momo". This India-South Korea co-production marks the directorial debut of Tribeny Rai and is set to make waves in the international film circuit.

"Shape of Momo", filmed in the breathtaking Himalayas, tells the story of Bishnu, a woman who returns to her mountain village after quitting her job. As she faces mounting family pressures and societal expectations, her life becomes increasingly complicated with the arrival of her pregnant sister and a budding relationship with a "suitable" boy from her community. As tensions rise, Bishnu must choose between conforming to tradition or claiming her independence.

The film hails from Sikkim in eastern India and has received critical acclaim, winning top honors at the Work-in-Progress Lab at India's NFDC Film Bazaar. It also received the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum Goes to Cannes award at the Hong Kong FilMart.

Neha Malik, Himanshu Kohli, and Jung Woo Lee are co-producers of "Shape of Momo", while Geeta Rai and Kislay serve as producers. The production company involved in the co-production is not explicitly named in the available search results.

Saliha Guemraoui of Celluloid Dreams expressed delight at working with Rai, whose artistic vision perfectly echoes the values and cinematic identity of Celluloid Dreams. Guemraoui stated that "Shape of Momo" moved and touched them deeply, praising the way Rai weaves together the personal and the political in the film.

"Shape of Momo" is set to have its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival and its European premiere in the New Directors section at the San Sebastián Film Festival. With Celluloid Dreams on board, the film is poised to reach a wider audience and continue its journey in the global film market.
