David Beckham Guest Edits a Special Issue of Paula Lester's Magazine for His 50th Birthday
Football legend and humanitarian David Beckham is set to grace the editor's chair for a special issue of Paula Lester's magazine, marking his 50th birthday year. This momentous occasion is slated for the October 22 edition.
A devoted follower of this magazine since meeting Editor-in-Chief Mark Hedges, David revealed his admiration for the publication during their initial encounter over two years ago. 'From our first meeting, I knew David shared our love for this magazine,' shares Mr. Hedges. 'He's a regular reader, eagerly devouring every issue, and it's been a constant companion throughout his transition from professional footballer to country dweller.'
The editor-extraordinaire highlights David's deep affinity for the countryside, a bond strengthened since his soccer-playing days. However, despite his busy schedule as a businessman, UNICEF ambassador, Inter Miami CF co-owner, and Salford City Football Club stakeholder, David's country life has ingrained a newfound appreciation for nature, animals, and rural pursuits.
'I'm thrilled that David agreed to take on this role, especially as it aligns with my 1,000th issue milestone as Editor-in-Chief,' notes Mr. Hedges. 'His unique perspective of blending sporting glory with bucolic pastimes makes for an exciting collaborative endeavor.'
Anticipation swirls around the contents of the special issue, which promises to showcase David's favorite countryside views, cherished recipes, rural champions, and local craftsmen who contributed to his Cotswolds abode. A personal insight into the evolving significance of the countryside in his life is also expected.
'To guest edit such a respected publication is an immense honor,' says David. 'I'm eager to create an issue that reflects my love for the British countryside and its unparalleled beauty.'
