Celebrate the Silly Season with the Altweiberparty and Zug-Party

Two exciting events are on the horizon for those looking to join in the festivities of the silly season! The Altweiberparty and Zug-Party, traditional Carnival celebrations, are set to take place in various locations across Germany.

The Altweiberparty, a playful event where women symbolically take control, is organised by the SPD faction and will take place on Altweiberfastnacht, usually in February or early March. This year, the party is happening at the SPD faction's event space or a venue arranged by them. To secure your spot, simply register via the email address: [email protected].

The Zug-Party, related to the Carnival parades, is another social gathering not to be missed. This year, the party is happening at the party office or local party house on or around the day of the Carnival parade. Soft drinks, beer, and snacks will be provided, and attendees are welcome to bring additional food or drinks if they wish. Registration for the Zug-Party can be done via the email address: [email protected], though no prior registration is required.

Both events are open to all, and everyone is warmly invited to join in the celebrations. Organised by Dirk Vöpel and Sonja Bongers, these parties promise to be a fun-filled way to celebrate the silly season.

While the exact dates and times for the events have yet to be announced, we encourage you to keep an eye on local event calendars for more information. Whether you're a long-time Carnival enthusiast or new to the tradition, these events are a great opportunity to come together and enjoy the spirit of the silly season!
