Celebratory milestone reached: 10th anniversary of Happy Birthday Hangar!
In a lively and spirited atmosphere, the city of Mönchengladbach celebrated its 50th anniversary with a sing-along concert held at the iconic Hugo Junkers Hangar. Over 700 guests attended the event, which featured the renowned Willich Toneheads and the WDR Big Band, under the motto "at home with Aunt Ju."
The Willich Toneheads' leader, Andrea Kautny, expressed her joy and surprise at the turnout, stating that she could never have imagined it in her wildest dreams. The audience, which included guests from politics, administration, business, and society, was thrilled throughout the concert.
Axel Ladleif, who assumed the role of Hugo Junkers for the evening, addressed the guests, emphasising the significance of the anniversary and the community spirit fostered by the event. In his speech, he spoke of creating a place where people meet, exchange ideas, and enjoy themselves.
Thorsten Neumann, Managing Director of noi! Event & Catering, who organised the concert, expressed his desire to repeat the event in the future. Noi! Event & Catering will operate the Hugo Junkers Hangar for the next ten years, ensuring that such celebrations will continue to take place in this unique venue.
The concert programme included well-known songs whose lyrics were projected onto a large screen, allowing the audience to participate fully in the singing. The WDR Big Band concert, featuring Chico Pinheiro and his "Brazilian Moods," was followed by a party, making it a night to remember.
As the concert drew to a close, Thorsten Neumann and his husband Axel Ladleif thanked idea generators, partners, and friends for their contributions to the success of the project. The sing-along concert at the Hugo Junkers Hangar was more than just a musical event; it was a testament to the city's rich history, its vibrant community, and its bright future.
The audience, enthusiastically willing to participate, joined the chorus during the sing-along concert, immersing themselves in the entertainment provided by the renowned Willich Toneheads and the WDR Big Band. In the spirit of fostering community and promoting enjoyment, Thorsten Neumann, organizer of the event, aims to host similar musical evenings at the Hugo Junkers Hangar in the future.
