Celebrations kick off at NATURE ONE 2025 in Pydna, drawing thousands of participants.
The Nature One electronic music festival is currently underway at the former rocket base Pydna near Kastellaun, Rhineland-Palatinate, despite mixed weather and predictions of cool temperatures and further showers for the weekend.
Despite the rain, the atmosphere at the festival remains lively. Thousands of music enthusiasts are flocking to the site to enjoy the music and festivities. The festival, which started on Friday evening, is featuring more than 350 DJs, including BENNETT and Felix Jaehn, who performed on the main stage on Friday evening.
The Nature One festival is a major event on the European electronic music calendar, having been held annually since 1995. The event celebrates three decades of electronic music culture and attracts tens of thousands of attendees worldwide. Notable acts include Paul van Dyk, a pioneering electronic music artist who has been associated with Nature One from its inception.
The festival site's industrial and vast military base environment contributes to its unique atmosphere. This year, the local museum in Kastellaun is hosting an exhibition on the 30-year history of the Nature One festival, which will run until Sunday. The town of Kastellaun is offering food stalls, shops, and festival supplies for the attendees.
In addition to the music, the festival also provides camping options, including standard camping, EasyCamp pre-set tents, and SilentCamp for quiet rest, supporting an immersive multi-day experience regardless of weather.
On Friday, Rhineland-Palatinate's Minister President, Alexander Schweitzer (SPD), visited the emergency services at the festival. Around 400 medical treatments were reported by Friday afternoon, mostly minor injuries, but also a serious case: one person had to be revived after a cardiac arrest and was taken to the hospital in a stable condition.
Nature One 2025 will end on Sunday morning with a traditional sunrise closing dance. The festival is a testament to the enduring popularity of electronic music and the vibrant community it fosters, even in the face of unpredictable weather.
