The 20th anniversary of Prince Albert II's reign in Monaco has been marked by a series of distinguished celebrations and events across Europe. Over the past two decades, the Princely family has been at the forefront of diplomatic engagement, sustainable development, human rights, and cultural collaboration on the European stage.

One of the key events took place at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on July 8, 2025, where Monaco’s Permanent Representation hosted nearly 200 guests, including senior diplomats, judges of the European Court of Human Rights, and Strasbourg officials. The ambassador, Gabriel Revel, emphasized Monaco's close ties with the Council and recalled the 20th anniversary of Monaco’s membership in it, celebrated in October 2024 with Prince Albert II present. Monaco is set to assume the rotating presidency of the Committee of Ministers in May 2026, focusing on issues like combating violence against women, children's rights, sport, and enforcement of ECHR rulings.

Another significant event took place at Monaco’s Embassy in Spain, where about 200 guests including Spanish officials, cultural figures, diplomats, and honorary consuls attended a reception in Madrid. The event celebrated Prince Albert II’s accession anniversary along with the historic 500-year friendship between Monaco and Spain. The ambassador, Catherine Fautrier, highlighted Prince Albert's global influence, particularly his commitment to environmental protection and international development, which has elevated Monaco’s international stature.

A special reception was also held at the Embassy of Monaco in Brussels to commemorate the same anniversary, reflecting Monaco’s diplomatic outreach and celebration across Europe. These events not only honoured Prince Albert II’s reign but also underscored Monaco’s deepening diplomatic engagement, commitment to sustainable development, human rights, and cultural collaboration on the European stage.

The anniversary celebrations are part of a broader program leading into Monaco’s upcoming presidency of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers in 2026, which will further highlight its priorities under Prince Albert II’s leadership.

Meanwhile, on July 19, 2022, a special celebration for Albert's 20th anniversary of reign is scheduled with the people of Monaco and his family. The royal house marked the anniversary with an Instagram post showcasing Albert's emotional moment on his investiture day.

At the 76th edition of the Red Cross Ball in Monte-Carlo, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene were present. Albert wore a classic white tuxedo with a red bow tie, while Princess Charlene donned a light blue evening gown by Elie Saab with cape sleeves, diamond necklace and earrings, and chrome high heels. Louis Ducruet, son of Princess Stephanie, arrived with his wife Marie in green, and Camille Gottlieb paid tribute to her late grandmother Grace Kelly with an Elisabetta Franchi creation reminiscent of the Hollywood legend's designs from the 1950s.

Princess Charlene has been the honorary president of the Red Cross of Monaco since her marriage in 2011, and the Red Cross Ball serves to fund humanitarian projects of the Monegasque Red Cross. The event is a testament to the Princely family's commitment to humanitarian causes and their continued efforts to make a positive impact in the world.

During the 76th edition of the Red Cross Ball in Monte-Carlo, various celebrities graced the event with their presence. Among them were Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, who were delightfully engaged in the pop-culture scene, symbolizing their involvement in entertainment and celebrity-driven events. The event, serving as a fundraiser for humanitarian projects by the Monegasque Red Cross, further emphasized the Princely family's commitment to humanitarian causes and their ongoing efforts to make a difference in the world, aligning with Prince Albert's global influence in advocating for sustainable development and human rights.
