Celebration of Pakistan's Independence Day featuring flag-raising ceremonies at the embassy
The 79th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with great fervor at the Embassy of Pakistan in Doha. Over 400 community members and friends of Pakistan gathered to mark the occasion, which began with a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Chargé d'Affaires Syed Mustafa Rabbani.
Syed Mustafa Rabbani hoisted the national flag at the embassy premises and delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the national spirit, sacrifices of forefathers, and the importance of unity, faith, and discipline. He paid tribute to Pakistan’s Armed Forces, notably mentioning the successes of Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos, and honored the Shuhada (martyrs) who died defending the homeland.
The event commenced with a soulful rendition of the National Anthem, followed by official messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister. Chargé d'Affaires Rabbani's speech underscored the significance of the occasion as a moment to renew commitment to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
During his address, Chargé d'Affaires Rabbani reminded the audience of the sacrifices made for Pakistan's freedom and praised the Pakistani community in Qatar as an indispensable "living bridge" between the two brotherly nations. He thanked the State of Qatar and Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for their support and positive role during recent regional challenges.
Chargé d'Affaires Rabbani ended the ceremony with heartfelt prayers for the peace, progress, prosperity, and solidarity of Pakistan. He assured that the Embassy and its personnel remain fully committed to the welfare of the Pakistani diaspora. Syed Mustafa Rabbani, Chargé d'Affaires, expressed confidence that the Pakistani community in Qatar would continue to represent the true image of Pakistan.
