Celebrating twice with iconic skateboard legends
Party Time: Double Jubilee Extravaganza!
Let's get pumped! Two major milestones are coming up in 2026: the Vainstream Rockfest is turning 20, and the Halle Münsterland is celebrating its 100th anniversary. And guess what? The organizers have some exciting surprises planned for these special occasions at the Vainstream 2026! This festival, happening on June 26 and 27, 2026, is gonna be a blast with a nostalgic twist: an exclusive reunion of the old "Münster Monster Masterships" spin-off.
Back in the day, from 1982 to 2005, Münster was the hub of the international skateboarding scene, all thanks to skateboarding pioneer Titus Dittmann and his World Championship. Sadly, when the central sponsors bailed in 2006, it all came to an end, including the popular "Monster Rocknight." But don't worry, the young concert agency Kingstar stepped in and managed to give life to a new festival – the Vainstream was born, and it's been a staple of the German festival scene ever since.
Now, for this jubilee year 2026, Kingstar, Julius Dittmann (now CEO of TITUS), and the Messe and Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland have got something extra special planned: in collaboration with US scene legend Dave Duncan, ten skateboarding legends will be trotting out their boards for an jaw-dropping showcase. Already, iconic skaters like Christian Hosoi, Steve Caballero, Lester Kasai, Sandro Dias, Mike McGill, and Lincoln Ueda have expressed interest in participating.
Musically, it's gonna be a trip down memory lane: bands that have performed at the Monster Masterships before are set to rock the stage and complete the nostalgic vibe. The special program will be integrated into the regular Vainstream festival, and for all you lucky Vainstream ticket holders, admission to most program points will be gratis! But keep an eye out, 'cause for the skateboarding demonstration of the "Vert-Legends" with accompanying live acts, there'll be a strictly limited number of tickets.
