CDU Proposes Economy Boost with Acceleration Law, Defends B6n Project
CDU economic spokesman Ulrich Thomas has proposed a planning acceleration law for public contracts to stimulate the economy, with billions in federal investments on the horizon. He has defended the B6n construction project against criticism from the Federal Association of Taxpayers.
Thomas dismissed the taxpayers' association's criticism of increased costs for the B6n continuation as 'general and incorrect'. The association had blamed the company GKDZ for the additional expenses, citing problems with personnel, rent, and maintenance. However, Thomas attributed the delays to ongoing lawsuits from environmental and green groups, not political decisions. He suggested that the right to sue these associations should also be considered a main cost driver.
