CDU Pushes for Hands-On Teacher Training in Rhineland-Palatinate

Feeling that future educators need more real-world experience, the CDU parliamentary group is advocating for a shift in teacher training in Rhineland-Palatinate. Brandl suggests a three-year dual apprenticeship as the new norm for the profession. In addition, the CDU is backing a six-month paid pre-study internship before entering the field. These proposals will be discussed in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament this Wednesday as part of the opposition parliamentary group's motion.

Beyond their focus on nursery teachers, the CDU is also pushing for a three-year dual apprenticeship in all teacher training programs.
