CBS' CIA Recruit from One Chicago Series Possibly Signals Trouble for One Chicago P.D.'s Romantic Relationships

Natalee Linez, known for her recurring role as Val Soto in Chicago P.D., has made a significant move in her career. She has been cast in CBS' upcoming series, CIA, as a CIA analyst named Gina Rojas.

The new series, CIA, is expected to air in the new year, although the connection between it and FBI is not yet confirmed. FBI is expected to be paired with CIA, but the exact nature of their connection remains unclear.

Linez's departure from Chicago P.D. could potentially affect the character Kevin Atwater, played by LaRoyce Hawkins. However, it's unclear how Chicago P.D. will handle Atwater's relationship with Val, given Linez's new role on CIA.

Michael Michele is the head of the CIA's New York Station in CIA. Nick Gehlfuss, who co-leads Chicago Med, is also a cast member in CIA. Tom Ellis plays a loose cannon CIA officer in the series.

Interestingly, CIA was originally scheduled to air in midseason, but was swapped with Watson to air this fall. No official premiere date for CIA has been announced by CBS yet, but it's expected to air early in 2026.

Linez's Instagram post indicates that she will not be returning to Chicago P.D. in the foreseeable future. It's not confirmed if Chicago P.D. will address her absence, given her new role on CIA.

Meanwhile, Jesse Lee Soffer, who played Jay Halstead on Chicago P.D., has landed the lead role on FBI: International's fourth and final season. Former Law & Order stars Jeremy Sisto and Alana De La Garza also join the cast of FBI in new roles.

Despite Linez's departure, Chicago P.D.'s main cast will not change for Season 13. Chicago P.D. is available for streaming with a Peacock subscription.

Linez's co-star, LaRoyce Hawkins, has shown support for her new role on CIA. This marks an exciting new chapter in Linez's career, and fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of CIA to see her in action as Gina Rojas.
