CATL raises wages and expands battery swap stations ahead of Chinese New Year
Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) is boosting wages for its production staff while pushing ahead with a major expansion of its battery swap network. The company, which dominates the global EV battery market, plans to add 1,000 new swap stations before the Chinese New Year.
CATL is raising base salaries for nearly 97,000 production workers by 150 yuan (around $21) per month. The increase applies to staff in job grades JG1-6 and follows a broader effort to support employees during economic challenges.
The wage increases and bonus scheme will directly benefit nearly 97,000 production staff. Meanwhile, the expansion of battery swap stations reinforces CATL’s dominance in both manufacturing and infrastructure. The company’s market share and growth rate remain unmatched in the global EV battery sector.
