"Millennial Marvel" Carlo Acutis on the Brink of Sainthood in September
Tech-Savvy Carlo Acutis, dubbed the 'Cyber-Apostle', to be Declared Saint in September - Catholic teen tech prodigy Carlo Acutis officially declared a saint by the Roman Catholic Church in September
Dive into the digital age with the upcoming canonization of Carlo Acutis, affectionately known as the "Millennial Marvel" or the "Patron Saint of the Internet." This passionately faithful tech enthusiast will make history as the first Saint of the millennial generation.
Born in the heart of London in 1991 to Italian parents, Carlo grew up in Milan with a deep-rooted Catholic faith and an insatiable passion for all things digital. By the age of seven, he had discovered a special devotion to the Eucharist that propelled his impassioned exploration of Eucharistic miracles across the globe, ultimately leading to the creation of an extensive online database on these sacred events. His blend of technology and faith made him a beacon for young Catholics and earned him the monikers "Cyber Apostle," "God’s Influencer," and the "Digital Evangelist."
Tragically, Carlo's life was cut short by leukemia at the tender age of fifteen in 2006. Yet, the impact of his brief yet profound life reached far beyond his years. His burial site in Assisi became a sacred destination for pilgrims, and his legacy lived on as a shining example of faith, charity, and evangelism in the digital realm.
Two miracles have been attributed to Carlo's posthumous intercession. The first miraculous healing took place in Brazil in 2020, where a boy battling pancreatic disease received extraordinary recovery, reportedly through the boy's prayers. In 2022, a second miracle involving the healing of a severely injured woman further solidified Carlo's path to sainthood. Her mother sought solace at Carlo's grave, an act credited with facilitating the recovery.
Pope Francis officially approved Carlo's canonization at the begining of the year, noting the miraculous healings as the culmination of a rigorous investigation process. To commemorate this remarkable milestone, Carlo Acutis will be canonized, along with Italian student Pier Giorgio Frassati, on September 7 of this year.
