Acclaimed actress Cate Blanchett, renowned for her roles in 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'Elizabeth', has been chosen to receive a Bambi Award this year. The ceremony will take place on November 13, live-streamed on Prime Video from Munich's Bavaria Film Studios.
Blanchett, who won a Golden Globe in 2023 for her role in 'Tár', will be honoured in the 'International Actress' category. Her impressive career includes an Oscar for Best Actress in 'Blue Jasmine' (2014) and her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 'The Aviator' (2005).
The jury has recognised her 'artistic excellence' and commended her humanitarian and ecological commitment. Blanchett serves as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, advocating for refugees since 2016, and is also involved in climate and environmental causes.
