In the world of investigative journalism, few stories capture the public's attention quite like the one that unfolds in the new docuseries "Scamanda." Produced by Pilgrim Media Group, a division of Lionsgate Alternative Television, and ABC News Studios, this gripping series delves into the life of California native Amanda Riley, a young wife, mother, and devout Christian who was diagnosed with Stage 3 blood cancer.

The series, airing Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on ABC, premieres on January 30. ABC News Studios, led by Mike Kelley, is the production house for "Scamanda." Executive producers Elizabeth Waller and Craig Pilligian, serving for Pilgrim Media Group, and Reena Mehta, SVP of Streaming and Digital Content at ABC News Studios, oversee the production.

"Scamanda" tells a tale of hope, resilience, and ultimately, deception. As Amanda begins documenting her battle with cancer online, she captivates thousands. However, as the series unfolds, it becomes clear that Amanda has a secret she is dying to keep.

The docuseries features new and exclusive interviews, including police, an IRS investigator, former friends of Amanda's, a neuropsychologist, and communications between Amanda and podcast host Charlie Webster. Off-camera conversations with Amanda, conducted by producer Charlie Webster, are also included, featuring the convicted and imprisoned cancer fraudster at the heart of the story.

The premiere episode, titled "Stage 1: Who's Afraid of Amanda Riley?", depicts a beautiful young mother given a devastating cancer diagnosis. The series has exclusive access to archival assets and materials collected by investigative producer Nancy Mosciatello during her five-year-long investigation into Amanda.

Victoria Thompson and Elissa Halperin serve as executive producers for ABC News Studios in "Scamanda." Nancy Mosciatello and Charlie Webster serve as producers. Lionsgate Alternative Television is responsible for the production of "Scamanda."

Following its television premiere, "Scamanda" will be streaming the next day on Hulu. The series is based on the No. 1 podcast of the same name.
