Catch a sneak peek of "American Idol" immediately after the live broadcast of "The Oscars®" on SUNDAY
Conan O'Brien, the Emmy® Award-winning television host, writer, producer, and comedian, has been announced as the host for the upcoming Oscars ceremony. The event will air on ABC on March 2, 2023, from 7:00-10:30 p.m. EST and 4:00-7:30 p.m. PST.
Meanwhile, the popular singing competition show, American Idol, is making a comeback on ABC. The eighth season of the series, produced by Fremantle and 19 Entertainment, a part of Sony Pictures Television, will premiere on March 9. The new season will also be available on Hulu.
The new season of American Idol will feature a star-studded judging panel. Carrie Underwood, a former winner of American Idol, will join Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie as judges for the new season. Ryan Seacrest will return as the host for the show, set to premiere in January 2026.
American Idol's return to ABC has been highly anticipated. The new season ranked as the No. 1 most social entertainment series on broadcast or cable in the 2023-2024 TV season. The series will air following the live telecast of The Oscars® on ABC.
