A Palestynean Cameraman's Footage: The Shocking Evidence of Israel's Attack in Gaza

A disturbing video showcasing the devastation caused by the Israeli army in Gaza has captured the world's attention just hours after its release. In the footage, a small girl wanders aimlessly amid raging fires that engulf several classrooms in the east of Gaza City. The fire was ignited by an Israeli airstrike, causing the death of 36 individuals, 18 children and six women, according to rescue forces.

The Fahmi Al-Jardawi School, which was being used as a shelter for the displaced, was targeted in an unpleasant surprise attack on a Monday. The footage displays volunteers and Red Crescent workers struggling to pull the injured from the flames but are ultimately forced to retreat due to a lack of water. "As we tried to break open the iron grilles on the windows, we heard the screams of people burning in the classrooms," Ahmad Al-Nadi recounted to news portal Mada Masr. Another helper, Abd Al-Nahal, stated that the flames erupted as soon as the impacts of the shells struck, giving the sleeping refugees no opportunity to escape. "I saw burning children fleeing through the rooms searching for their mothers," he said, describing the horrific scene.

Despair also grips the doctors treating the injured at the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, where many of the burn victims were taken.due to the ongoing blockade of aid supplies since March 2023, the hospital has run out of essential medications and bandages. Hospital director Fadl Naem led journalists through the overcrowded corridors where the burned victims were hospitalized. "We simply lack the resources to treat such a large number of patients," he admitted.

Witnesses of several recent attacks reported to "nd" that the Israeli army has started using rockets or bombs that cause fires in their attacks. Previous attacks on schools resulted in most victims dying from shrapnel, but since Israel's offensive began, many burn victims have been treated at the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital and other clinics.

A Farce in Humanitarian Aid

Statements from the Israeli army's press office claiming they have taken "various measures to protect the civilian population" are met with skepticism, even in Israel. The claim by an army spokesman that Hamas commanders were in the school at the time of the attack is likewise dismissed. Radical politicians are now openly expressing their desired outcome of "Gideon's Chariots." On Monday, posters from the right-wing extremist group "Im Tirtz" were displayed at the Old City Gate in East Jerusalem: "2025 - Gaza in our hands" and "No further Nakba, no victory for us."

The possibility of repetition of the Nakba, the expulsion of 700,000 Palestinians conducted from 1947 to 1949 during Israel's establishment, is hinted at by the government coalition of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir have a straightforward plan: reduce the number of Palestinians. The increased indifference towards Palestinian suffering since October 7, 2023, has further fueled their expulsion fantasies. "You can kill 100 Palestinians in one night, and no one in the world cares," stated radical Knesset member Tzippy Hotovely last week.

A Call for Change

In academic circles, more and more Israelis are becoming aware of the potential ethnic cleansing of the Gaza Strip being carried out in broad daylight, which could make the country an international pariah. Over 1100 professors and university heads publicized a declaration at the weekend, demanding an end to the "horrific series of Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity."

Despite this, the Netanyahu government remains unfazed; they wish to resume aid deliveries to avoid possible sanctions and to end the refugee status of Gaza residents and those in West Bank refugee camps since 1948. The ban on the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees would no longer classify them as refugees, but as ordinary citizens who would likely emigrate due to the destruction of almost all homes in Gaza. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), registered in Switzerland, has hired American mercenaries to distribute food at four points in Gaza from Monday. Security Minister Ben Gvir demands that the distribution of food be linked to the willingness of recipients to leave the Gaza Strip. None of the distribution centers under military control are situated in the north of the Gaza Strip. "For the Palestinians living there, this plan means certain death," affirmed UNICEF spokesman James Elder.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens due to the continuous military actions and the ongoing blockade. The food distributed through organizations like the GHF has become politicized, causing concerns about the strategic placement of distribution centers and the involvement of Israeli military contractors in security arrangements. The situation has led to a significant rise in child acute malnutrition, with rates above 80% in March 2025.

Refugees in Gaza face massive hardships, including a lack of essential goods, overcrowded living conditions, and the danger of military operations. The Israeli government continues to enforce strict policies, resulting in international condemnation and the growth of extremist views among the Palestinians. The people of Gaza are in desperate need of global support to bring an end to the conflict and rebuild their lives.

In light of the ongoing war-and-conflicts in Gaza, there is a rising concern about the Israeli government's policy-and-legislation, particularly its apparent disregard for civilian safety. The recent attack on the Fahmi Al-Jardawi School, which housed displaced civilians, has highlighted the need for a more humane approach in general-news discourse. The crisis in Gaza has also brought crime-and-justice issues to the forefront, with concerns about the strategic placement of humanitarian aid distribution centers and the potential exploitation of vulnerable refugees.
