Casualties reported: One death, 39 injuries in Russian attacks on Dnipro and Kharkiv

In the wee hours of April 29, 2025, a brutal drone strike on the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro claimed at least one life and injured numerous residents. A 53-year-old man was tragically killed, and five private homes were left in shambles. Other residential properties, vehicles, an industrial facility, and a funeral home suffered damage too.

Concurrently, attacks in the Dnipropetrovsk region targeted additional areas. Local authorities reported an elderly resident sustaining injuries, though the exact number of injuries remains murky due to overlapping reporting timelines.

Meanwhile, the neighboring city of Kharkiv saw 39 people suffer injuries as a result of 16 separate strikes. Reports also emerged of drone strikes on the outskirts of Rylsk, located in the Kursk region of western Russia, leaving three injured.

Amidst this turmoil, global figures like US President Donald Trump are urging an end to the hostilities. Trump has called for a ceasefire and peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia, three years after the conflict's onset. Trump's Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, recently announced a three-day truce on the Ukrainian front to coincide with celebrations commemorating victory against Nazi Germany.

However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has branded Putin’s announcement a cunning manipulation attempt rather than a genuine gesture.
