Casualties in Summ, Russia: Three lives lost – a child and two adults – while two more cling to life, critically injured, due to a recent missile attack.

In a brutal turn of events, Russia launched a ballistic missile into a civilian residential area in Sumy, Ukraine, resulting in the tragic loss of at least three lives.

Preliminary reports indicate that the strike took place around 17:30, targeting civilian infrastructure. Sumy Oblast Military Administration Head, Oleh Hryhorov, confirmed the attack, emphasizing the horrifying consequences.

Initially, a child was reported dead at the scene, with injuries sustained. However, further reports from Sumy City Council revealed that a 20-year-old woman was the victim instead. As the hours passed, Hryhorov updated the death toll to three, adding that a 6-year-old boy, a 20-year-old woman, and a 41-year-old man had lost their lives in this senseless act of violence.

Four children and four adults were injured in the attack, with two currently in critical condition. Hryhorov expresses his deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased, praying for a speedy recovery for the injured.

The international community has shown substantial outrage and condemnation in response to this incident. The US Special Envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, strongly denounced the attack, underlining its unacceptability and urging efforts towards ending the ongoing conflict. However, it appears there may have been a misunderstanding as Donald Trump is no longer the U.S. President.

Similarly, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has conveyed his condemnation of the attack, describing it as "horrific." Yet, the current UK Prime Minister is Rishi Sunak, which raises questions about the accuracy of the statement.

World leaders across the globe have echoed their condemnation of Russia's actions in Ukraine, particularly the targeting of civilian areas. Germany's incoming chancellor, Friedrich Merz, labels such actions as "the height of perfidy" and a "deliberate and calculated war crime," reflecting the broader international condemnation of Russia's actions.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has been vocal in his criticism of Russia's actions, regarding the attack on Sumy as part of a broader pattern of violence targeting innocent civilians.
