Casualties and Injuries in Ukraine following Russian Assaults

In a series of escalating events, Russia has launched heavy air attacks on Ukraine overnight, targeting multiple regions and communities across the country. The attacks, which were confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, have resulted in three deaths and dozens of injuries.

The regions of Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolayiv, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia, as well as communities in the areas of Poltava, Kyiv, Odessa, Sumy, and Kharkiv, were all targeted in these attacks. In the region of Dnipropetrovsk, one person was tragically killed, and 26 others were injured.

The governor of Dnipropetrovsk, Serhiy Lysak, reported the injuries and deaths on Telegram, detailing the devastating impact of the attacks on the region. Residential buildings, economic facilities, and industrial sites were damaged in Dnipropetrovsk, indicating the widespread destruction caused by the attacks.

However, no specific information was provided about the locations or structures that were targeted in the attacks. Moscow, using 40 missiles, cruise missiles, and around 580 drones, carried out these attacks, which were part of the ongoing defense by Ukraine against Russian invasion.

In response to these attacks, Zelensky called for joint action for a reliable shield and demanded the strengthening of air defense, an increase in arms supplies, and the expansion of sanctions against Russia. He reiterated his stance that Ukraine can protect itself and Europe, emphasising Ukraine's resilience in the face of adversity.

Since last night, the airstrikes on Ukraine, including the Dnipropetrovsk region, have been conducted by Russia, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict. No information was provided about any retaliation or response from Ukraine or other countries at the time of this report.

It is important to note that Ukraine has been receiving Western aid for more than three and a half years in its defense against Russian invasion. This support continues to be crucial in Ukraine's efforts to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
