"Caster announcement for 'Emily in Paris' Season 5 reveals notable absence among cast members"
"Hey there, pals! Let's spill the beans about Season 5 of "Emily in Paris," shall we?
It seems our favorite French drama is shake-up time as one of its OG cast members, Camille (played by Camille Razat), the friend-turned-foe of Emily (Lily Collins), won't be reprising her role. This reveal was dropped on Netflix's Tudum platform yesterday. Kudos to Camille for being a series regular since Season 1, and her character was none other than Gabriel's (Lucas Bravo) on-again-off-again squeeze.
We shot off a quick email to Netflix representatives, hoping to get the scoop on Camille's future in the franchise, but no response yet. Ditto for her team.
On the positive side, key characters such as Collins, Bravo, Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, and Lucien Laviscount are on board for Season 5.[1] Emily's newest Italian squeeze, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), is also set to make a comeback.
It's not all peaches and cream for Bravo though. Last year, he expressed his concerns about Gabriel's character arc, questioning if he'd want to stick around for Season 5.[2]
Speaking of Season 5, the series will commence filming in May, with scenes from Rome first, followed by Paris later in the summer.[3] Season 4 ended with Emily being tasked to open a Roman branch of Agence Grateau, and with Marcello mixed up in that project, one can only imagine the romance drama brewing between him, Emily, and Gabriel as they strive for that coveted Michelin star!
Collins chatted up Tudum about the new romance, expressing how Marcello is the fresh spin Emily needs, "We want to see her beyond vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time." A release date for Season 5 is yet to be announced.[4]
