Cast of 'And Just Like That' left taken aback by abrupt conclusion, according to Kristin Davis.
In a surprising turn of events, the showrunner for the popular HBO Max series, And Just Like That, Michael Patrick King, has announced that the reboot of the beloved Sex and the City series will be coming to an end after three seasons. King, who has been at the helm of the revival, revealed the news while writing the Season 3 finale. The decision comes as a shock to many, including the show's main cast members. Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York in the franchise, expressed her sadness about the end of the show and her love for the cast and crew. Davis, who made a three-year commitment to the reboot, assumed that the series would continue beyond three seasons. Davis was not the only one caught off guard by the news. Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Carrie Bradshaw, and Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda Hobbes, also mourned the end of And Just Like That on Instagram in August. Nixon shared behind-the-scenes photos and called the show an exciting part of her middle-aged incarnation of Sex and the City. Parker, too, praised the joy, adventure, and hard work that went into the making of And Just Like That. Despite the sudden ending, she seems to be grateful for the experience. Interestingly, Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in the original series, did not revive her role in AJLT due to her feud with Parker. However, she made a cameo in the second season finale. With the conclusion of And Just Like That, it seems that the story of the Sex and the City universe will come to an end. King stated that it might be a wonderful place to stop the reboot at this point. As fans bid farewell to the characters they have grown to love over the years, they can look back on the journey with a sense of satisfaction, knowing that the series ended on a high note. The final season of And Just Like That is set to premiere in late 2023.
