Wild Boar Wreaks Havoc on the Road: 35,000 Euros in Damages
In an unexpected turn of events, two vehicles ended up as collateral damage on Bundesstraße 100 south of Bitterfeld-Wolfen after an encounter with a wild boar. On a chilly Saturday evening, a 65-year-old driver, unfortunately, struck the rogue boar first, followed by the oncoming car of a 54-year-old woman. The impact resulted in an estimated 35,000 euros' worth of damages to both vehicles, prompting their removal from the scene. Regrettably, the elusive boar made a swift escape into the nearby forest, never to be found.
Collisions with wild boars on rural roads are a recurring issue, as these animals are more commonly encountered in such areas.
