Life in the limelight wasn'tCarrie-Anne Moss' only priority. The "Matrix" actress made a bold move to prioritize family over her Hollywood career.

In an interview with "The Independent", Moss spoke candidly about her choice to step away from the silver screen to start a family. "Following 'Matrix' becoming such a massive hit, I took a long, long break to have kids and be with them," the actress shared.

Her initial thoughts were enticed by the grandeur that a powerhouse career might offer. "I thought, 'Wow, they're offering me such fantastic opportunities. It would be such a big deal.'" Yet, facing the joys of motherhood, she pondered over her priorities. "Was it more important for me at the end of my life that another film was on my resume, or that I held my baby in my arms?"

The answer was clear: "I'm so glad I did it. I'm so grateful I don't have to regret it," confessed Moss. Although her career might not have taken the same trajectory, she believes it was the wisest decision she's ever made.

With a career spanning over three decades, Moss first broke through in 1999 with her iconic role as Trinity in "The Matrix." Though there were sequels and additional roles in films like "Chocolat" and the "The Acolyte" series, she didn't quite make it to the A-list.

Fortunately, Moss found an enduring love off-screen, marrying fellow actor Steven Roy in 1999. Together, they share three children, two of whom are now adults.
