German Politician Caroline Bosbach Denies Allegations Surrounding 2023 MIT Election

German Bundestag member Caroline Bosbach, known for her appearance on the RTL show "Let's Dance" and as the daughter of former CDU interior politician Wolfgang Bosbach, is facing allegations regarding her election to the executive board of the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (MIT) in her Rhine-Berg district in 2023.

The allegations, reported by news portal "t-online" and ARD magazine "Kontraste", include offering a payment of 90 euros for entry into the MIT, which is equivalent to an annual fee, and sometimes rounded up to 100 euros. Additionally, it is claimed that free catering was promised as part of the election process for the MIT leadership team, to which Bosbach belonged.

However, Bosbach has denied these allegations, stating that they are based on manipulated chat logs that were leaked to the press. She has expressed her intention to cooperate fully in the matter and has published a video on Facebook and Instagram, denying the allegations and expressing her intention to take action against the campaign that she believes aims to damage her credibility.

Bosbach has also made it clear that she does not want the fabricated and manipulated allegations against her to be the subject of conversation at public appearances. As a result, she has decided not to attend any campaign events until the allegations have been clarified.

It is important to note that there is no credible or verified information indicating that Caroline Bosbach offered a payment for entry into the Mittelstands-und Wirtschaftsunion or promised free catering, as reported by t-online or ARD's Kontraste. If such allegations were reported, they would likely have been widely covered and clarified given the public interest.

The MIT has not yet provided a statement on the matter related to the additional allegations. The documents related to the allegations will be handed over to the Cologne public prosecutor's office for independent review.

Bosbach entered the Bundestag for the first time after the federal election. As a member of the CDU (Christlich Demokratische Union) party in the Bundestag, she hopes the allegations will be clarified soon, especially in view of the current NRW communal election campaign.

The public awaits further developments in this matter, as Bosbach continues to deny the allegations and cooperate with the authorities in resolving this issue.

Other news outlets, including general-news sources and crime-and-justice publications, are expected to pick up the story as the investigation into the allegations against Caroline Bosbach progresses. The exact details of the payments and free catering promises, if any, remain unproven, with Bosbach maintaining that the chat logs used as evidence are manipulated and leaked.
