Caroline Bosbach refutes fresh accusations against her

Caroline Bosbach, a CDU Bundestag member and daughter of the former CDU interior politician Wolfgang Bosbach, has denied allegations regarding her election to the executive board of the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (MIT) in 2023.

The allegations, which have been circulating, include offering a payment of 90 euros for entry into the MIT, equivalent to an annual fee, which was sometimes rounded up to 100 euros. Additionally, free catering was allegedly promised to secure the election of the leadership team, to which Bosbach also belonged.

However, Bosbach has vehemently denied these allegations, stating that they are based in part on manipulated chat logs that were leaked to the press. In a video and a letter to the members of the CDU in the Rhine-Berg district, she expressed her support for an independent review of the matter and her willingness to cooperate fully.

The executive board of Bosbach's group has decided to hand over all documents to the Cologne public prosecutor's office for this purpose. Bosbach also denies accepting 2,500 euros from a CDU party account via a roundabout route, as reported by "Stern" and RTL/ntv.

Bosbach, known for her appearance on the RTL show "Let's Dance", entered the Bundestag for the first time after the federal election. She stated that the CDU Rhein-Berg has not suffered any damage as a result of these allegations and is currently examining whether she can take legal action against the campaign that she believes aims to damage her credibility.

It's worth noting that there are no credible search results related to any controversy, allegations, or investigations involving Caroline Bosbach, apart from discussions around Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf’s contested nomination to the Bundesverfassungsgericht (Federal Constitutional Court) and the political fallout around that.

The MIT had not yet provided a statement on this matter as of the time of the report. Bosbach hopes the allegations can be clarified soon, especially considering the current NRW communal election campaign.

  1. The ongoing controversy surrounding Caroline Bosbach's election to the MIT executive board has echoed in discussions about policy-and-legislation and politics, given the allegations of improper election practices and financial irregularities.
  2. Despite the rumors of crime-and-justice implications, such as the alleged offering of payments and free catering, and the "Stern" and RTL/ntv report of a 2,500 euro transfer, Bosbach has maintains her innocence and advocates for a thorough investigation, aiming to address general-news concerns and clear her name before the NRW communal election campaign.
