Carol service performance at Princess of Wales revealed: Identified music selections for the event

This year's "Royal Carols: Together at Christmas" broadcast, scheduled for Christmas Eve, promises a heartwarming and unifying event. Hosted by the Princess of Wales (Princess Kate), the service will feature an array of renowned artists, including Adam Lambert, who will perform "The Christmas Song."
Taking place at the iconic Westminster Abbey, the carol service aims to celebrate love, empathy, and kindness shown in communities throughout the year. The event, now in its fourth year, will honour those who have displayed these qualities, reinforcing a message of togetherness and communal spirit at Christmas.
Princess Kate has invited Adam Lambert personally to participate in the service, and other notable artists such as Samantha Barks will also be performing. The service will encompass both traditional and modern elements, with the Choir of Westminster Abbey singing "O Come, All Ye Faithful," and the Soul Sanctuary Choir, Sankofa Singers, Olivia Dean, Gregory Porter, Paloma Faith, JP Cooper, and composer-pianist Rosey Chan contributing with their unique talents.
Lady Gabriella Windsor, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, was heavily involved in planning the service. As an ambassador for Restore the Music for the past five years, she engaged the youth charity to perform for guests at the carol service. Restore the Music, an intergenerational choir based in Belong Chester, will be joining the festivities.
Rosey Chan, who recently released the first track from her forthcoming album, Unity, during the carol service, collaborated with Gregory Porter on a new, semi-improvised piece of music. The piece was paired with a poem read by actress Sophie Okonedo, adding a touch of artistry to the service.
The service will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX on 24 December at 7.30pm, following its initial staging on 6 December. Polly Moore, CEO of Restore the Music, expressed her excitement to participate in the carol service, which will undoubtedly be a touching tribute to the power of love, empathy, and kindness in our communities.
