In a heartfelt post on her Instagram account on September 14th, Caro Robens, a well-known figure from the German television show "Goodbye Deutschland", expressed her frustration over the adoption process for a Cane-Corso puppy named Ronja Raubtochter, currently housed at the Trier Animal Shelter.

Caro and her husband Andreas, who live on Mallorca and run a fitness studio named "Iron Gym" in S'Arenal, had applied for Ronja's adoption a few weeks prior. However, they did not receive a response, despite having four dogs at home, a strong love for animals, and recently adopting a young Pitbull named Hera.

The Trier Animal Shelter, it seems, prefers to mediate dogs within Germany. This may have played a role in their application not receiving immediate attention. The shelter did send a subsequent email, but it did not mention the Robens' location on Mallorca as a reason for rejection.

Caro's post has sparked concern among her followers, many of whom have expressed worries about high adoption requirements in Germany. Caro herself has stated that animals often end up with breeders or are adopted abroad due to these high requirements.

Despite the initial silence, Caro received a response from the Trier Animal Shelter about their application for Ronja's adoption. They were informed that their application would be handled in the coming days. However, there is no publicly available information about their current interest in adopting the dog.

The Trier Animal Shelter has other interested parties for Ronja, and the puppy is still searching for a new home. Caro and Andreas, meanwhile, are looking for a playmate for Hera and have collection boxes for animal shelters on Mallorca at their fitness studio's entrance.

The saga of Ronja Raubtochter and the Robens' adoption application serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for many animals to find loving homes, and the complexities that can arise in the adoption process.
