Carlos Alcaraz Wins Japan Open, Extends Winning Streak to 18

Carlos Alcaraz has continued his dominant run in tennis, winning the Japan Open title in straight sets against Taylor Fritz. The 24-year-old celebrated his eighth title of the season and 18th consecutive win, despite expressing frustration with the referee.

Alcaraz, who admitted this is his best season, secured his career-best 67th win of 2025. He leads Taylor Fritz 4-1 in their ATP Head-to-Head battle and has now won three titles since losing to Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon in July. Remarkably, Alcaraz has tied with Alexander Zverev for most tour-level triumphs among men born since 1990 (24).

Alcaraz's victory in Japan was not without its challenges. He enjoyed his ATP debut in the country, except for the time he was injured with an ankle hurt. Despite this setback, Alcaraz's strong performance and continued dominance in tennis have been evident throughout the season. He is set to beat Jannik Sinner's record of 73 wins in a season.

Carlos Alcaraz's victory at the Japan Open further cements his status as one of the top tennis players in the world. With eight titles this season and 18 consecutive wins, Alcaraz continues to impress and is on track to break records. His next challenge will be to maintain this high level of performance and continue his winning streak.
